Color Update

We have to make some adjustments with the color of the bags.
We misjudged the demand for this Kickstarter and started with four colors of leather. As we have looked at minimums from our manufacturer, we have decided to start with just one color. After we hit 150k, we will release another color. Thereafter, every time we hit another 150k, we will release another color.
According to the response we have received for the bag colors, we are going to start with the brown nubuck leather. As you can see below, all of the bags look amazing in the brown nubuck.
We’re sorry for this change, but want to be transparent in our decisions, as we get closer to making this project for waterproof leather bags a reality.

Long Overdue Update

I am sorry we didn’t post an update last week. We are going to address a number of questions that arose from the comments on the Kickstarter page.
The first question we will address is concerning adding a sternum strap to the design. We are not going to do this; however, we are are considering selling an option to get a sternum strap kit or have one sew on before it ships out. If you are interested in adding a sternum strap to your order please comment below to give us an idea of how many people want one.
The second comment we will address is concerning the leather. The leather is 100% Italian vegetable tanned leather. There is not a specific care that is recommended beyond how you would care for regular leather. The waterproofing ingredients were tanned into the leather and is not a film or layer on top of the leather so the leather will feel like regular leather.
The third comment we will address is concerning the weight of the bags. The small bag weighs 2.06 pounds and the large weighs 2.11 pounds. Thank you for pointing that out Ann Glorieusann.
The fourth comment we will address is concerning how the shoulder straps look. I have included a photo below. The slash proof material under the leather will be a more neutral color.

First Week (!) and Interior Pockets Video

We've had a great first week! We slashed the price of our bags, and we're already almost halfway to our funding goal!! When we first learned about waterproof leather, we knew it was revolutionary! Here at Breton, Joseph has been testing out the backpack, and loving its simple and organized design. Kim has fallen in love with the laptop bag. It's exciting to have different options in the waterproof leather to fit with anyone's lifestyle. Thank you for being one of our awesome backers to help make this dream a reality!

We launch products on Kickstarter to test everything about a it - from its design to its price. And the results speak form themselves - the price was too high for the waterproof leather bags. As a result, we have lowered the price by $100!
