Want to add an extra item to your reward? Simple. Here's how:

  1. If you’ve already pledged to this project, click the “Manage My Pledge” button at the top of the page. If not, click “Back this project” and pick one of the rewards. Every backer can pick one and only one reward level.
  2. Look at the Add-On Menu in the project description. Find the item(s) you want to add. Increase your reward by the corresponding dollar amount. You do not need to add any extra money for shipping beyond the shipping surcharge this will be collected after the campaign in Backerkit.
  3. That’s it, you’re done for now. No need to do anything else until after the project ends on October 12th. In the weeks following October 12th we will send every backer a survey. In that survey you will tell us which specific items you want to add on to your reward. You will also have the chance to add Breton Company products to your reward that are not in the Add-On Menu. You will give us your shipping details at that time.

How are Import and Duty Taxes Calculated?

We can collect import duty and taxes for certain countries. We will collect these additional fees in Backerkit after the campaign closes. We are able to collect import duty and taxes for all member countries of the E.U., UK, Canada, South Korea, Mexico, Brazil, and Chile.

Import Duties and Taxes will not be charged on the waterproof leather bags by Austraila, Hong Kong, New Zealand, and Singapore. Unfortunately, we are unable to collect import duty and taxes form any other country.

What are your shipping policies?

If our shipping carrier attempts delivery to you and you don’t get it because you’re not there, wrong address, moved without notifying us, and the package returns back to our warehouse, we will not be able to send you another product.

What are your refund, exchange and return policies?

100% pledge back guarantee = you have 7 days after the end of the campaign to receive a full refund. After 7 days, we will start placing the POs for the products and will NOT issue any refunds or returns.

There will be no exchanges or returns. If you have a factory defect, you may apply for your warranty and we will send you a new product.

We stand behind our bags and will replace or repair items that fall within our warranty; However, we do not offer refunds or returns on bags / products that were received as a Kickstarter reward.

Crowdfunding is an amazing tool that allows people to get their ideas off the ground. Kickstarter is not a store and our “reward levels” are the way that we say thank you for supporting us (and trust us, we are VERY grateful). Every dollar received from this campaign will go directly into making the WaterProof Leather Bags a reality.

BackerKit FAQ

What is BackerKit?

BackerKit is a service that crowdfunded project creators use to keep track of hundreds to tens of thousands of backers—from shipping details, pledge levels, preferences and quantities, whether they have paid or had their card declined, special notes, and everything in between!

The BackerKit software and support team is independent from the campaign’s project team—BackerKit does not handle the actual reward shipping. For more information about the preparation or delivery status of your rewards, please check the project's updates page.

How does BackerKit work?

After the campaign ends, the project creator will send you an email with a unique link to your survey. You can check out a walkthrough of the process here.

I never received my invitation. How do I complete the survey?

The most common reasons for not receiving a survey email is that you may be checking an email inbox different from the email address you used to sign up with Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account, or it may be caught in your spam filter.

Confirm that the email address you are searching matches the email address tied to your Kickstarter, Indiegogo, or Tilt Pro account. If that doesn’t work, then try checking your spam, junk or promotions folders. You can also search for "backerkit” in your inbox.

To resend the survey to yourself, visit the project page and input the email address associated with your Kickstarter, Indiegogo or Tilt Pro account.

How do I update my shipping address?

BackerKit allows you to update your shipping address until the shipping addresses are locked by the project creator. To update your address, go back to your BackerKit survey by inputting your email here.

When will my order be shipped, charged or locked?

That is handled directly by the project creator. BackerKit functions independently of the project itself, so we do not have control of their physical shipping timeline. If you want to check on the project’s status, we recommend reading over the project's updates page.

I completed the survey, but haven't received my rewards yet. When will they arrive?

As BackerKit does not actually handle any rewards or shipping, the best way to stay updated on the shipping timeline would be to check out the project's updates page.
